Dr. Andrus brings specialized training and a compassionate approach to Mid-Modern Eyecare. As a dry eye sufferer himself who has experienced painful corneal erosions, Dr. Andrus understands firsthand the challenges his patients face. This personal journey has fueled his passion to find real solutions for dry eye sufferers—not just treating symptoms but addressing root causes for lasting relief.
Raised in Idaho as the youngest of nine children, his journey to becoming a leading eye care specialist began with undergraduate studies at Utah State University, followed by earning his doctorate from the Michigan College of Optometry. His commitment to excellence led him to complete a residency in primary eye care and ocular disease at the Dayton, Ohio VA Medical Center, where he honed his expertise in treating complex eye conditions including advanced dry eye management.

Beyond the Office
When not caring for patients, Dr. Andrus enjoys cycling, camping, woodworking, home renovation projects, and classic cars. His love for music includes playing guitar, singing, piano, and cello. Most importantly, he cherishes time with his wife Miriam and their 3 daughters.
